I think Mississippi is being ignored because the leftist-MSM thinks that New Orleans will damage Bush more than does Missisippi where they have competent governments.
But with competent governments the states of MS and AL are doing OK, or as best can be expected in this natural disaster.
The left, that's another matter -- It looks like in the end Bush Derangement Syndrome is now a proven killer.

The whole Katrina episode proves beyond a shadow of doubt that once the hurricane touches land, if you have not prepared in advance you are toast. Maybe that is why all hurricane plans, all hurricane public notices, all hurricane public seminars I have ever attended stress that fact.
The mere fact the leftist-MSM keeps dancing around the issue of prior preparation and evacuation being the only answer to hurricanes is evidence of massive bias being levied on an uninformed public.

True it was a disaster, but those of us with a brain saw it coming, knew to get out of the way. It is not like a tsunami where you have an hour to prepare, we had 3 days. I know we got run over by Katrina.
With hurricanes, preparing and executing your plan is everything. Playing the odds is a losing proposition. Local governments provide the plan, shelters and the transportation for the indigent.
I doubt those that don't live in hurricane country know what is really required and how the citizens and government should react. For those that don't ask yourself when the earthquake strikes CA, as it did in 1989, who you gonna call -- 911 or FEMA.
But you are right, hurricanes cause disasters. Those of us living in Florida are thankful Jeb Bush is governor and not some stooge from LA.

I suggest we demote Louisiana to a territory and remove their star from the flag. After they elect new management, they can re-apply for union membership.
And yes, if Jeb Bush screwed up this bad in the Florida I would be saying the same thing.
